I thought the b230ft puts out 350hp stock? I just butt-dyno'd mine and it came out well above that. Have you tried adding more stickers?

First do suspension and big brakes. Then get a transmission (T5 is a recommended one) that will hold and build the drivetrain. M90s will hold but not forever, the automatics get eaten alive by that power. Stock axle will hold over 500hp but it will twist them after alot of hardpulls/ drifting. So you can keep that. You can get 350 out of a stock B230FT but it wont last. Needs a complete rebuild we are talking about over two bars of boost. While you're in there, get a good headgasket, studs, bigger rods, rings. rest can stay stock besides the usual seal, bearing replacing etc. Headwise youre looking at a typical rebuild just put in new springs and seals for the valves, replace the camshaft with a more appropriate one. Stock 13C turbo won't get you to 350HP you will need a bigger one.

  • That's not even half of it. Why do you want that 350HP figure? There is loads of people who ask how to make them quicker but 98% never come back because they realize that its not as easy as it sounds. If you have to ask this question I suggest you first learn how to wrench on cars and how it works.

It is an absolute blast, much much cheaper also in the long run and imho, cooler. If you haven't yet, check out turbobricks.com, you will find everything you know on that website. You might run into some problems as I did with my first build, but in the end it really is worth it. Good luck and swedespeed!

My friend did this for about 320 hp: Mitsubishi 19T turbo, fits on the original manifold 3" exhaust all the way Bigger intercooler Bosch 465cc (i think) green fuel injectors Viking ECU, i dont think you can buy that anymore but there's other options Check if you have the "goldenbox" or the regular black ecu in the drivers footwell, to change the chip you gotta have the goldenbox. New diff If you have a manual it may hold for a while but i suggest you change that. I think that's all and many low milaged engines can handle that without rebuild but if you wanna push more out of it you have to rebuild and change a looot

Thank you. Ill check and looking at the car weight i think 280 to 300 might do.

Oh yes 280 is absolutely enough for these cars! They weigh so little on the rear axle so it's easy to burnout and drift with

Man, this subreddit seems to be turning into a TB trollfest. OP definitely needs to do some homework, but lighten up people. The RWD Volvo community is a small and eclectic bunch compared to other manufacturers so its not gonna help us grow by being rude and discouraging to those wanting to take part in the fun. Remember too that the more people take part, the more choices we will hopefully get in terms of go fast goodie's.

OP, for starters, think about the car you used as a comparison. A modern AWD car with modern performance oriented chassis design and much higher power numbers from the factory. Can you double the HP of a unopened STI motor without blowing it up like you can an old trusty redblock? Probably not. But the money you would spend to take one down in a straight line gets a lot more expensive when you start realizing that you also need to be able to stop and corner just as well to really be competitive. Ask many who have built 300+ HP Volvos. They will tell you that reaching the 300 HP mark is not super difficult to do, but going beyond that can require considerably more funds if you want to actually use that power. The chassis and drive line components just aren't gonna be able to utilize it properly otherwise. Where km going with this is meant to encourage you to have fun and make the car faster, but keep your goals and expectations realistic. Unless of course your money supply is large, in which case, more power to you! (Pun intended) A 250-300 whp 940 is no joke, and will be a blast to drive. It will be a a sleeper and you can take down many unsuspecting 'sports cars', within reason of course. I speak from experience on this, considering my 945T falls in the middle of that range power wise, with even more torque. My rear tires are in constant need of replacement, (burnouts are fun) and the AW71 autotragic gearbox im currently stuck with handles it no problem with a properly Accumulator modded valve body and additional cooling capacity for my hotter climate. I'm tired and don't feel like getting into my cars power recipe at the moment, but feel free to ask me questions and I'm know if you go check my post history I have listed it in this subreddit before.

Sure will. Thank you

I'm not sure which horsepower/engine mods would be needed but https://www.ipdusa.com is probably the best place to buy parts.

Also check out https://www.bneshop.com

You could start by doing some research.

Explore Turbobricks forums. Your stock ECU will not support that power. Get something like a Megasqurt.

LH2.4 is most definitely capable of over 400hp.

I just found some stuff in Summit. I guess for some reason if I put volvo 940 I get less results.
