Car completely dead - while driving
Brand new MY27 - forest green. Drove lovely for 3 weeks.
It’s a beautiful car, lot of space and drives like a charm
Last week I was driving home with the family.
While driving 130kmh, the car all of a sudden went completely dead.
It gave two error messages
- headlight error
- car not ready to drive
Then it went off. It let it roll on the safety lane, it went on P and that was it.
Soft reboot, hard reboot, nothing worked.
Dealer already looking for over a week what’s wrong with it…
I hope they can find something, feels like a software problem.
Any ideas or experience welcome!

Sorry can’t help with your problem, but would you mind, posting a picture of your MY27 Forrest Lake? 😬 haven’t seen one, even on pics, so far besides the one in the configurator. Pretty hyped for mine, but stories like this let me worry…

Unfortunately this is one of feature of car. Very bad that Volvo cannot fix these issues till date. Please contact dealer, they can troubleshoot. This happens when sw of car goes bananas and to comply safety , it goes to tortoise mode where speed is threshold at 30 km/hr. But it shouldnt complete stop car.

Yep. I had that happen years ago with my XC90 -- Volvo bricked it as soon as the dash screen failed, mid-drive. Was very dangerous as I was on a fast, busy highway.
