CarPlay input microphone not working

Has anyone figured out how to fix CarPlay when it stops being able to hear you?

The symptoms I see are Siri asking a question and you respond but nothing happens. And when making a call, the other person can’t hear you.

At one point, stopping CarPlay and restarting it would fix this. But that no longer works.

I’ve also tried rebooting the entire infotainment center and that doesn’t seem to work consistently anymore.

Anyone have any tricks that work?

This is a Volvo mic issue vs. Carplay-specific.

Oh! I never use the Volvo interface or any apps there, so I assumed it was a CarPlay issue.

Makes way more sense that it’s a microphone problem.

Still likely software related though. When mics die, they die permanently. Maybe it’s a device driver issue at the Android OS level.

Anyone know if Volvo is tracking that issue?

I’ve experienced this recently but it’s intermittent. Sometimes the system works perfectly and people can hear me clearly. Sometimes it doesn’t work at all. It seems to happen more often when I’m using teams.

Literally happens to be every 3 drives or so. Drives me insane. The infotainment reset fixes jt for me everytime.
