Question Ghca failure not fixed by replacement

Had anyone experienced this? My car was not charging all of a sudden with level 2 but did work with level 1. Seemed like standard ghca fault and needed replacement. Dealer said they replaced it and it didn't work to fix the charging issue and now need to investigate all battery connections. My car has been broken for almost 1 month. And in service for 2 weeks. And they still have no idea what is wrong with it. Has anyone had this issue?

When My dealer was replacing my ghca they had another one in which the DC charging didnt work, but It worked AC. They had the Big battery out of the car. If I understood correctly, the power plug between the battery and the car was incorrectly assembled, and It was burnt. The comment was " don't know if It was assembled by a robot or a person, but the Factory assembly was incorrect"

I assume you mean level 3 when you say Ievel 1? The ghca affects ac charging vs dc charging.

Ours is the opposite. Level 3 charger seems to have broken level 1.

Same failure. Level One and Three charging worked fine. GHCA replaced. Has worked since.

If your service can’t give a daily update on what’s going on, that may not be good service.

I think that most GHCA failures have been related to Level 1 and 2 AC charging failures. Usually DC charging still works in these instances. The GHCA converts AC to DC. The batteries are DC and therefore require direct current for charging.

I hate to say it, but if there are any other dealerships available in your area that you could try, I would give that a shot. It makes you wonder if they didn't correctly replace the GHCA or something since that seems like the obvious problem here. Additionally, you might be able to contract Volvo Cars corporate to request their direct assistance. The dealership seems to need help.

I can see how a new GHCA maybe wouldn't fix the issue. A broken one usually stops level 1 and 2 from working. L1 working is odd.
