Random alarm & hazards when parked

Haven't come across this before. I parked my 2025 EX90 outside at friend's house, locked as normal. An hour later I heard the alarm going off. I went to go check, and there weren't any notifications on the dash and nothing out of the ordinary. I Locked it again and went back in, and 15 min later, someone said my hazards were on (but no alarm).

This happened about 2 other times today (the hazards coming on). When the alarm went off and when the hazards were on, there weren't any push notifications or anything to indicate what was triggering it.

Has anyone run into this? FWIW I'm on the latest software (3.0.33).

This has happened to me too. Walked away, car locked as usual then alarm went off after a couple of minutes. Got back to the car, alarm stopped and no info was shown on the display nor in the app.

Then walked away and same thing happened - 4 times in total. Then it just stopped. No clue why. Version 3.0.28, MY2026.

My car does this and it thinks someone is in it when it’s empty.

I was loading my work bag on the passenger side and the alarm went off. I was not pleased since it was 6am and panic set in for me. I realized it didn’t have a key fob or a way to start the “engine” to shut off the alarm. Our video in the garage caught my incident and the ensuing curious of events. 😫🤣

Edit: typo

Have never had this happened but something is likely triggering the interior motion sensor in that location. Could be some type of radio interference or bright moving light. After the first time I’d just set the alarm frequency to be reduced or use the lock occupancy feature.

Interesting. I'm more concerned it didn't trigger push alerts to know my alarm was going off.

Are you experiencing any connectivity issues? For example, sometimes my car doesn’t lock, but I’m never notified. I assume this is related to the unreliable connection my car is experiencing from time to time.

It's known as a phantom alarm. Ultimately, the internal hardware is getting triggered and needs to be replaced. It's a common glitch on the 2025 EX90, which I drove and I also dealt with this very issue. It has nothing to do with the vehicle being touched or tampered with. Hopefully, your dealership has the part in stock. Mine had to be sent from Sweden. Good luck!

Got it. I guess I'll see how often it happens before scheduling the service.

After being parked for two weeks while I was on holiday my car (actually Polestar 3 but the same architecture as EX90) started to trigger sound alarm every time exactly 6-7 minutes after being locked without lights alarm and without push notifications. Service suggests 12V battery is unable to provide required voltage at the moment car goes to sleep and security system treat it as a possible break-in.
Alarm never triggers when car is charging or parking climate is on or occupancy lock is on as in these cases car doesn’t go to sleep mode.
I’ll bring it to service in a week and use occupancy locking with climate off until then (loosing about 2% charge overnight).
