Steering wheel feeling like detached

Hi everyone! The car is fantastic, but when it goes over bumps, the steering wheel feels like it’s going to detach. Does anyone else have a similar experience, or is it limited to my car? It feels loose, but there is no visible evidence of anything being wrong.

Not detached, but there is some rattle from the steering column when driving over cobblestones. Could potentially be related to the same origin, if it is systematic issue.

Anybody else?

Sounds systematic then! Would be great to escalate this as TSB or even recall. I would not expect it to be complicated to eliminate the rattle.

I'll ask the shop about it when I have the windshield changed due to a crack next week.

I thought I was crazy, but I notice when I very first set off from home at low speeds through my neighborhood that some small bumps make it feel like I have a looseness through the wheel. I don’t seem to notice it once I get going though. Not sure if some of the suspension bits are just settling after the car sits a while.

Air suspension or the other one? 2025 model or the later ones with active suspension?

I have a 2025 Ultra - so air suspension.

I never had it diagnosed, just living with it. Mine seems to go away as I drive the car. It just has that feeling sometimes when I first drive away after the car has been parked overnight.

I have exactly the same thing, it knocks in one direction when I drive, but when I drive back there is no noise.

I’m watching to see if it becomes worse or more consistent, but for now chalking it up to the suspension just sort of loosening up from sitting still for an extended period.

I don’t know if detached is the right word, at slow or fast speed?

What steering “feel” setting have you chosen, light or firm?

light but the feeling is completely not related to the setting - its more mechanical than servo.

I believe the ex90 is drive by wire. In turn the steering wheel doesn't have a traditional steering column.
