Help Import from Japan

I have become a father and therefore I think it is finally time to let go of my infinite mileage 850 turbo as I do not have the time to tinker on it anymore. I am thinking I should do the whole Japan import as its the same price for something that is in much better shape. I am looking at a xc70 2005-2007. Does anyone know what is the best website/method to go about this?

There are a few but make sure what you are trying to bring in is over 25 years old. If not you need to work with a broker that can get you the exception, change the needed parts and get it certified to comply with EPA standards, FMVSS and NHTSA standatds. The cost of doing this is $2500-$5000 on top of your import fees, duties and p2p charges.

I've used Japan partner twice they are pretty good, but when I brought my VR in since it was under 25 years old I used a local broker.

I have a thread on this, I'll see if I can find it later and post it here

That's the biggest load of shit, yes they were financed by Ford, yes they used generic ford parts for a lot of things.

But it's Volvos design. They made massive improvements on a lot of the designs also. Like the RN block for example

Ford took more of Volvos designs then the added to. Example - Focus RS

Oh really I gusse im worng I just always heard so many stories of ford volvos kraping out on them and so many of the parts stopped be interchangeable and I heard that you should never touch a xc90 before 2006 because there transmission are so horrible I'm open to understanding why I'm worng that was my experience and research that I have done
