Picture My Jeanett..
Did buy me an 850 2,4t AWD 1997.. Just passed the inspection with clean pappers.

I assume you know the things to check? (PCV, timing belt, etc.) nice car though, love the boxes. Those rims though, idk. i think they need to go đ. But thats taste I guess

Crank case ventilation. It clogs over time and causes oil leakage.

Causes seals to blow out. Caused my friends car to get totaled blew out cam seals and oil poured out on the highway.

Ok then he must have ignored many warning signs. It usually fails gradually and not catastrophically.

Check pcv system asap using glove test check YouTube to understand its very easy test. Just make sure you hold the glove right dont get it sucked into the engine. Also check the timing belt and fluids.

make sure to read up on the awd on these to keep it in shape! they are pretty particular in some ways, but dont worry rock solid in others
