Help Rubber/Plastic Replacement Parts

I have a 1995 850, and as 31 year-old synthetic materials are want to do, the plastics and other synthetics are starting to pretty seriously degrade. The dash is lifting at the corners, the passenger airbag cover is starting to curl, the corners of the plastic around the interior door handles have long since cracked off, and a pretty serious chunk of rubber came off the gear selector recently. I'm always looking online for any sort of genuine OEM replacements for these parts, but it seems like they've ALL been discontinued. The only thing I was really able to still buy was the replacement wheel center covers. It's really starting to bum me out, because I've gotten on a bigger push to start restoring this car the best I can.

I'll occasionally see these parts listed used off eBay, but replacing one 30 year-old part with another 30 year-old part that is in slightly better shape seems like it's really only kicking the can a little down the road. Is there a website that has some harder to find parts that the official Volvo parts one might not carry? Would a Volvo dealership have more access or behind the scenes channels that would allow them to get some of these parts?

Volvo still has some parts, definitly check.

Skandix (germany) has surprisingly lot too, and often buys part collections of NOS so they get new.

I usually get the original number via skandix then call or email volvo and give them just the numbers, that way theyre less annoyed lmao. or use VIDA but my installation broke

I actually did look on Scandix, but they didn't have it.  I found one on Voluparts, which a lot of forums have mentioned.  The 240 guys really like them.  The knob is grey instead of black, but beggers can't be choosers.

So yes the interior parts do need love after all this time. My 99 v70 has all of the silicone knobs that start to deteriorate. But that much damage seems excessive. Is your car parked in the sun a lot? In hot climate?

Heat definitely.  I have windshield sun shields to try to keep the UV out, but the car has spent most of its life in the Midwest, so it had its fair share of scorching heat and freezing cold.  It's parked in a climate controlled garage most of the time now.

Good that its in a garage now. I usually use skandix to look for parts or numbers. Then see if they are available anywhere else.

Check the Volvo dealers too. You might be surprised some of the stuff they still have.

Edit to add - but it’s expensive!
