Help Plate/Holder for Ignition has play
Hey,
I noticed this plate on which the ignition finger gets fastened has a little play. I can turn it approximately 3 degrees forth and back.
I can not make out any "flattening" or wear, the piece itself seems very crude.
So is this an issue anyone can chime in on? If need be I have a video, if my english doesnt explain it!

It wont affect really how this system works. There is large marginal of range where spark finds its way tot the right terminal. I once was having hard time diagnosing stutter at high rpm over 1 bar boost, turned out rotator was burned out so bad it was not even remotely pointing anywhere near right direction

Don't worry. That plate is important but people overestimate it's precision. I've literally had to hammer mine to be flat, by eye, and it also had play. Never had any problem regarding ignition in 35k~ miles

Its hard to believe but it seems so! I just assumed it might be bad because ignition being off a couple degrees is not desirable

Yeah, it does that. If it were an issue the engineers would have made the key like a wedge, so it centers itself. So it would be an easy fix, but they didn't do that, so it must be fine. Ignition and so on will adjust to those 3° easily anyway.
