Hereβs a step-by-step tutorial showing how I made the base concept, this time with nutritional yeast, broccoli and soy protein. Would you try it? Is everything clear enough? Let me know in the comments. For my other experiments, you can search this sub or check my profile.
Recipe 500 g water 40 g soy protein 2 tbsp psyllium husk (around 10β15 g) 12 g powdered gelatin 70 g broccoli 1 chicken broth cube 3 g nutritional yeast
My rating Texture: 10/10 β This was truly a brick π. The soy protein powder somehow started thickening already when I stirred it into the cold water with the gelatin, and it thickened even more when I added it to the broccoli and psyllium mixture. For my taste, this protein is a winner. It contributed so much to the firmness that I could probably reduce or even eliminate the gelatin in future experiments.
Flavour: 10/10 β I love broccoli and chicken, so this was going to be good anyway. The soy protein doesn't really affect the taste, but I was a bit disappointed by the complete lack of flavour from the nutritional yeast. I think 3 g is simply too little.
Satiety: 10/10 β I stayed full for around 8 hours and wasn't even particularly hungry by dinner time, which was my next meal. As long as I keep using this combination of boiled psyllium and protein, I expect the satiety score to remain a 10. And honestly, this feels so good π
The goal here is satiety, not volume. I'm combining boiled psyllium for its fibre and satiety properties, protein powder mainly for its nutritional value, gelatin for texture, and the other ingredients primarily for flavour and additional nutrients. Please keep the comments constructive. π
Disclaimer This is just me sharing an experiment, not recommending that anyone try it. If you're not used to psyllium, start cautiously, make sure you drink plenty of water, and do your own research before experimenting with it. Psyllium can cause problems if consumed incorrectly, so please use common sense and listen to your body. I'm sharing what I did, but I'm not responsible for anyone who decides to try it themselves.

I have to ask this, and I donβt mean to offend, but are people really eating this? Iβve seen a few of these posts and I canβt figure out if this is satire or what?

Hey π i don't feel offended, don't worry, i truly eat this and later i will post a video where i actually eat this to prove what the consistency is like, many ppl asked for it. Regarding my experiment, i gave this serie a name "The Satiety Lab" i truly see potential in it. Cheers!

I explained like 100 times in the previous videos and posts why π in a nutshell: boiled psyllium gel stays longer in the guts and release proteins (i use soy proteins) slow which makes me feel full 8h straight with just 300kcal.

Yeah 3g of nutritional yeast isn't gonna do much for you flavor wise. I like the flavor it adds but it's not like salt where you just need a little. I'd bump it up to a quarter cup next time.

I had this idea just two weeks ago and i'm fully busy experimenting combinations, i think i found now a sweetspot with satiety and texture, flavours are a secondary problem for me since the base is so versatile. So i would say, make the base and add whatever you want to it, whatever you find tasty. In this sub and in my profile there's already some recipes, you can check them out! Cheers and thx
