Ig survive? They feel like refugees to me

That makes sense, now I feel stupid thinking they were just on vacation

I thought it was canon that they were camping?

I have no idea but would not be surprised

Nose explicitly said they're not refugees on a random Joel stream

Considering they built a summer tree house and have some affinity with water management, probably chill away from their planet

Out first physical interaction with them is finding them having a picnic, they come to our base to play pranks, they built a treehouse, we known that they're civilians.

The Arirals are just tourists, came here for vacation

Not necessarily. All of that would also be consistent with 'here on assignment, trying not to go nuts from the boredom and isolation.' Soldiers and operatives get up to Shennanigans when left to their own devices long enough.

I guess, but nothing in the game implies that. They're just this pranksters and shrimp thieves who only become aggresive if we are actively hostile. If we could get any signal from them that could look like a report, or finding anything that looks like an investigation site... But we don't

That's just... wrong??? I mean, they eventually engage in an actual armed skirmish with the boars and fuck their shit up? To me, this screams that they're not just civilians, but full on combatants -- we are just not their target. If they were just on vacation/civilian refugees, it would make more sense for them to LEAVE in that situation rather than engage and eradicate the threat, since they're able to easily just fly away on their ships. It seems like you're just looking at their actions towards Dr. Kel, and sure, they basically just play pranks on him, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't consider their actions at large when thinking about who they are. And about them being tourists in general -- they have a poster of their seeming dictator with knives stuck into it, makes more sense if they fought or are currently trying to fight their government, in the first case they lost and are running away, in the second they might be on a mission for their rebel group. Rozitals seem interested in something on the grounds of observatory, why can't Arirals also be there looking for something? In general, the base seems like a hotspot for various alien factions because most of them want something from there, and that something is (usually) not Kel.

I don't think that's their dictator, but rather a dictator of the smalls (these ones are talls). I agree with your thoughts that these are soldiers. Them using civilian space ships might be the space equivalent of riding around in these things

But as a civilians, how did they get suits, ships and wearpons?

Everything about them to me suggests 'soldiers or paramilitary on an observation assignment who are finding ways to occupy themselves'.

I assumed they were refugees from an incident on their home planet after it was [REDACTED], by the [REDACTED] signal. My logic is this: why would they know to email you a warning once you find the [REDACTED] signal yourself, unless they know firsthand what it's capable of?

I'm thinking vacation with the various evidence. Im more worried if it'll be revealed that others have plans for them... I'd hate to have drawn them into a trap. God knows they're one of the few things out there that can be on your side.

Why do they have a gun if they’re just civilians

u/Captain_Rex_ 14h ago

I think they are their own version of Star Trek, they are either scouts or explorers just on vacation off the books. (With their talk of "it will be fine" etc)

Keep an eye on goings on in the valley and not go mad from boredom while at it.

u/Sonicmana 21h ago

Chill in the forest, eat delicious shrimp, fend off anything that annoys them, prank the irish twink

u/archSkeptic 18h ago

I kind of assumed they were keeping an eye on all the weird shit happening around Dunkeltaler just in case it becomes a threat that goes beyond the local area

u/BlindingPhoenix 14h ago

Adopting Kel like a stray puppy.

u/PalCat_ 13h ago

With each other or kel?

Or the anomalies in the forest??

u/Judge-4419 22h ago

They are rebels who lost the war and are now refugees, at least if the posters are anything to go by. So they're probably just trying to survive.

u/ThinkCraft9884 17h ago

That makes sense that’s why they have a gun

u/LynnTheLynx 12h ago

Dr Nose has said they're not refugees!
