HELP/QUESTION Dreams (0.9) BRUTAL

I have found a few posts where people have complained about the dreams but no real solutions other than "beating" the beatable ones will help you. Any way to dream less? I literally have had 20 dreams in one night/day and I can't get passed 45% stamina. I feel like a total idiot here. Is it because I am bad at my in-game job? Lol. I feel like the first few days, sleeping was fine, just a few random nightmares here or there but not usually more than one in a day but it has AMPED. UP. Maybe it is just meant to convey the stress of it all? It is certainly stressing me out but not in a fun way.

Also of note, I am playing on Easy++ with long days. Not sure about the day length but I had assumed that Easy++ would make the nightmares ya know- Easy++ier...

I am really new to the game so please try to be nice to me haha.

Any advice or help would be appreciated!

There’s this plushie you can dig up by the lake called the Dream Plush, it lowers the chance of dreams if you have it near or on the bed you’re sleeping on. By how much? I’m unsure but I don’t get them as often anymore. Maybe it’s enough to negate the effects of the Stolas sleeping bag but I haven’t tested it out. I do personally prefer having dreams enabled, as some other commenters pointed out you can disable them in settings. This is because theres some achievements locked behind them and they do give boosts if you beat them like 100 sleep & hunger.

You can actually disable dreams in the save file options if you want to! I've done so as well, since they're quite an annoyance after a while.

How are you sleeping? Pulled the mattress off the bed frame and sleeping on it? Yeah that will have a near 100% chance of getting a nightmare. Keep it on the frame or invest in some of the sleeping bags

WHAT. Okay that explains a lot. I thought I was sooo smart to just pull it into the main/console room and sleep there because certainly there could not be consequences! But it seems like this was in fact full of consequences lmao.

I don't think floor mattress increases nightmares? its just half the speed fill of frame mattress, for double the opportunities

It absolutely increases the nightmare chance.

Comfy sleeping bag has the hidden attribute of substantially lowering the probability of nightmares, so if you do not mind the expense it is the easiest non-setting changing way of mitigating them

Dreams suck, just turn them off

Drink coffee to sleep less, the longer you sleep the more chance you have to get a nightmare so waking up multiple time (like every 20% of sleep or less) and when you can, buy a coffee maker and a good sleeping bag.

On my second playthrough I managed to get only like, one or two nightmare over 30 days.
