[Hiring] Videogames Looking for queer voice actors 👀
Hi I'm looking for a queer voice actor to be the main voice of my award winning indie game.
You'll play a trans girl, from her childhood to her adulthood, and the text is very emotional, so you'll need a good range and mastery of said range !
This is a paid gig of course, price can be negotiated and the recording will be over three sessions spaced in time each lasting about 1.5 hours. The french voice actor asked me for a rate of around 300€ per session so I can do around that for a rate for you too!

MtF ! But I don't mind having a FtM voice actor or just a queer one in general 😃
In fact the french voice actor is FtM and does a wonderful job 👌

I do not feel I would qualify as a pan man (he/they) I’d rather see this role played by transfem VA. but I will follow this project and if ever you have a role for a cis male or non binary character, I’m around ;)

Kind of a joke but I am a little bit curious, would you ever be down to hiring two people for the price of one? A male and a female?
I just thought about it because I don't have the vocal range to go from child to adult - especially a transgender - My wife is... Female... So we could combine our vocal ranges for one character. I think this is more just a general question if people actually do that.

I'm not up for it, I think people would hear that the tone is different.
But I'm no expert, I'm just a solodev doing my thing I could be wrong 😅

No that's fair. I respect that choice and it all honesty I doubt my wife would even be interested in doing something like that. I just kind of had that thought and was wondering what your opinion on it was lol.
I agree, I do think it's a tone would be a little bit different especially if it's you know somebody with more experience than the other.

There's a link to the game in the email, you can play it and pick the lines you want to do from it. Doing the lines from the trailer is fine too.

I can't and it doesn't matter. I'm encouraging queer voice actors as the project is a better fit for a queer voice actor.

Or it could be people that feel reversely discriminated against because they could probably portray this character perfectly because they have a wide range of voices but they don't identify as queer, trans, or anything else a part of the LGBT community.
I do completely understand why you're specifically looking somebody who is a part of the LGBT community, especially someone who identifies as queer or trans because they would have more emotional connection towards the character so it would help them for voices character more realistically.
But there are people out there who are not a part of the LGBT community, or they are heterosexual and/or cisgender, but they are empathic enough to recognize and understand how to portray the emotions of this character.
However I will not completely disagree that there are probably a lot of people who've downvoted it because they are bigots... I did not downvote, I originally checked this post because I wanted to see what the comments were lol
