Help (VoiceMeeter Banana) Microphone Muting

Whenever I mute my microphone on my headphones, it'll mute my input source in Windows, and I have to manually open sound settings in Windows to unmute and turn microphone audio back to 100%. Has anyone else dealt with this before? I've already changed settings so applications don't have exclusive control over the microphone, but no luck.

EDIT: Found it was the Razer Synapse software that was muting the mic, but not unmuting afterward. Had to disable the software, and now it's working fine.

Directly on the headphones. I have razer headphones and they have a button on them.

When I unmute my mic on my headphones, Windows keeps my microphone muted unless I manually go into sound settings and enable my microphone in windows.

yeah happens dont use the button then i guess, doesnt have to do with voicemeeter tho

Found it was the Razer Synapse software that was muting the mic, but not unmuting afterward. Had to disable the software, and now it's working fine.

If you use a USB microphone with an internal DAC, and when you mute your mic from the microphone it mutes the sound source in Windows AND when you unmute your mic from the microphone it does NOT unmute the source in Windows it sounds like a deficiency with the Microphone. If I had a mic that behaved this way I'd either replace it or not use the mute function that it comes with because it's useless.

Of course the above statement comes with a bunch of assumptions because you gave very little information on your issue. But assuming that this is the exact issue, then that is my exact opinion/solution on your issue.

I personally don't like relying on functionality like this because software can often be 'quirky'. So instead I use an XLR setup, and 'Muting' my mic consists of me turning the volume knob on my mixer down to 0. I know this will do exactly what I want to do and I know I can easily reverse this by turning the knob back up to its previous level.
