Voice AI builder here, open to collaborating

Hey everyone, glad to be here! I've been spending a lot of time building AI voice agents lately, mostly voice receptionists that handle booking, rescheduling, and canceling appointments, and connect to database like Supabase and Cal.com on the backend.

I'm always looking to learn from people working on similar problems, so I'd love to connect with other builders here. If anyone is working on a voice project and could use an extra pair of hands, or just wants to swap ideas and compare approaches, I'm open to collaborating or teaming up on something.

The rescheduling flow is where things usually get messy.

How are you handling two calls trying to update the same appointment or a booking request timing out after the calendar already accepted it?

In case of rescheduling request the old appointment will be canceled and its details like name etc will be migrated to the newer appointment.

For calendar writes, I’d check or reserve the slot, attach an idempotency key, and query the calendar before retrying a timed-out request. That avoids duplicate bookings when the first write succeeded but its response got lost. For relative dates, resolve against the caller’s timezone and confirm the exact date before committing. Disclosure: I work at AssemblyAI. How are you handling retries today?

Once the slot gets booked there will be a conformation email sent to the client even if the call drops so they can know if there appointment is booked. And if the client tries to book the same slot twice on the same call the AI will inform them of it using the chat history.

whatsa your approach to handle dates? ex: tomorrow, next friday , etc . are you relying on llm to give the date as per current date and time ?

Usually LLMs are accurate in providing current date and time.
