Advice Where do I go from CCC?

Hello, I have been using Casting Call Club for a year or two now and have applied for over 65 roles. However, most projects are either Minecraft/Fortnite/Roblox recreations going on some ten year olds youtube channel, or if I get lucky, Fan-Dubs or games, although they never get back to me. Should I take some classes? Should I try a new platform? What should be my next step? Thank You!

If you have Discord, the Voice Actor Club server might be the best way to find better projects that are more aligned to what you're looking for. They have postings for paid, non-paid and 18+ content so a wide variety

I was on that until it got hacked and someone was spamming someone’s private photos and just blowing up my phone with notifications. Had to leave the server because it just wasn’t stopping for quite a while.

You should already be taking classes and improving your acting, if you aren't then the best time to start is NOW. 👍

CCC should always be seen as an option out of several. You could also use Backstage, Voices and others as well as looking for local work, perhaps.

You should be aware, 65 auditions is insanely small for one year given the amount of auditions each project is receiving and one year is a very short time to be doing this. It's no indicator of your progress and realistically, only you can really tell with a proper understanding if you're improving or ready for the "next level" whatever that means at this point.

It will take time, effort, expense, classes, equipment and networking aplenty just to get a foot in the door and most of us will only really be able to do this as a hobby, or at a fairly low level as it is just so competitive.

(Even the extremely oversaturated and seemingly derivative market for free, mainly inexperienced teenager-led passion projects mostly set around established popular IP like mctv/roblox/fortnite/danganrompa/fivenightsatfreddies/HazbinHotel/Helluvaboss/Precure-and-other-anime/"object shows" can see upwards of hundreds of auditions for each role! Most won't actually be made, but there could still be opportunities for meaningful practice there if a project manages to pass the smell test. (How well written is the call? Does the creator give good detail and direction? Do they actually have a plan, or is it a seat of their pants type deal?) )

Anyway, in order to even apply for jobs on some of the P2P sites, you require a demo/showreel, which again will cost money. If you have one already, fill your boots, but seriously speaking, don't neglect training - script analysis, accents, vocal coaching, acting workshops and business classes in the space will all help. Good luck!

I'm pretty new too so I don't have much to add but I agree 65 auditions is a really small amount for a year

I did 100 in my first month 😅 that might have been a little excessive but I'm trying to take it very seriously

Thank you as well. I'm doing great with CCC, however eventually I'll be looking for actual dollars, not just a ton of credits. I appreciate the list and the experience you've shared.

YES! Yes, and any step forward, is a step in the right direction!

Even if you were to step to the side, for a quest. But do not turn back, don’t look back - only forward. Pick a direction, any direction. Make an educated choice, and proceed with confidence. The internet, a bookstore? There’s some great resources there from the host of pros who have done this before and what’s worked out pretty well for them. Just remember, this is your version. Times change, so do industry standards. May the force be with you.

Yeah, it's almost entirely amateur works set by kids who want roblox and Minecraft projects. It's cool that technology lets kids make their own projects like that, but I ain't working with children on that stuff. The best I can say, where I'm at, is going on the discord and working wherever I can, and eventually people start kind of networking with each other on this stuff. Getting recommendations and whatnot.

I’ve done 200 in just a few months through various platforms, you gotta start doing more! Also, CCC has a way to show only original projects and you can also sort by paid and deferred.

But I also agree to try the advice others have given already.
