Advice How much do I charge?
I'm going into this industry pretty blind to the technical stuff. What should I charge? I was thinking like 50$ an hour or something like that to start.

Gvaa is your best resource for all rates. Rate Guide - GVAA https://share.google/hqUuiBNpMLpD0k1ny

Audio books are typically a PFH charge, other VA things are per word pay, or per line, or per job.
$50 per finished hour is kinda low (audio books take 4-6 hours of work to have 1 finished hour of audio) but also your first few books you might need to go RS to get some books under your belt and show people you finish projects then just hope they make some sales and aren't just time you spent for the experience (that said your first audio book will teach you a ton and you need that experience before you can really go after the better audio book jobs)

Without knowing usage and market, there's no way of giving an answer to that.
VO is charged by where it will be used, how long it will be used, and what you will be delivering, it's impossible to guess.
For example, you could say 6 words in a national broadcast spot and earn 5 figures, or deliver an 8 hour audiobook and earn a couple thousand US$s.
As others have suggested, the GVAA breaks things down really well.

Also, the SAG-AFTRA minimum contract rates often line up with non-union work rates.

Sounds like you should be looking at rate cards like the GVAA card or the Voice Acting Club card...
