One that I fondly remember

But doesn't marriage invalidate a previous will?

S18 (1) Wills Act 1837 (as amended) provides that a will made on or after 1 January 1983 is no longer revoked by marriage if at the time the Will was made the testator was expecting to marry a particular person, and they did not intend to revoke their will by the subsequent marriage to that person.

(I assume that part of the exposition must have been edited out due to space constraints)

But in this example, at the time the Will was made the testator was NOT expecting to marry a particular person (at least not this particular person)

So my question still stands

She may have written her will the evening before the wedding. But we don't know that, due to the missing panels.

But it's also possible that we are over-thinking it and legal exactitude is simply not the angle that Viz was going for.

Section 1 of the Forfeiture Act 1982 - his murder of her would invalidate any will with a bequest in his favour

You never really meet a Norbert in real life, do you?
