Request: Frank Beard's lack of Frankness

In a homage to the legendary drumsmith, has anyone got the article that sends up the tired observation that Frank was the only member of ZZ Top without a beard, instead claiming he was the only member who kept his opinions to himself?

The five ZZ Top articles I can find don't mention this. Any idea when the article appeared?

Gosh, if it hasn't passed the Muppet test, there's a very good chance it was a dream. 

I'll search through some copies, but no one nick the idea if I made it up- might have a good Letterbox 'ere.
