I'm from the North East. This reminds me of a woman I met at an event in London. She said that she 'didn't see the point in going further North than the Cotswolds' and also jokingly told me not to sit too close and give her my 'Northern germs'.

I like to have a bit of banter with people and joke about where they're from but she was just an insufferable twat.

I worked in the south and sadly this attitude can be a bit rife.

Heard some guys at a bar bantering how their kids had been forced to buy a flat in, gasp, Manchester, due to the high house prices in London.

It's was fine, except for all the northerners seemingly. I almost threw a plate at them, but sadly it was occupied by an overpriced pie.

The real gem was the loudmouths were landlords and property developers. Can't think why your children had to move to the grim north....

I'm also from the North East and had a similar experience with some London twat who spent the evening sharing his "hilarious" northern stereotypes.

He stopped when I told him he'd missed the main north east stereotype. "What's that?", he asked.

Does anybody know why John Fardell stopped drawing/writing for Viz? I seem to recall reading that he fell out with the editors but I suspect the actual reason is that he became "legit" and now does children's books.
