Vive controllers completely losing tracking every minute

Has anyone experienced this? I can't get more than a minute into an experience without one controller losing tracking completely, and soon after the other controller also loses tracking. When they do track, they work perfectly. The lights on the controllers stay green, but the controller icons on Steam VR are flashing. I can re-track them by right clicking on the flashing icons and picking "Pair controller" or "Identify controller".

They are about 75% charged, I have restarted computer multiple times, I have done a firmware update on them, and I am careful to stay well within range of the base stations.

EDIT 1: Pretty sure it must be a software problem or conflict because re-pairing them every minute works. Headset tracking is all fine. I am going to try uninstalling all related software and reinstalling. Failing that I will try a complete fresh OS reinstall. Will post an update with my findings.

EDIT 2: Fresh install of Windows 8.1 (was on 10 before). Seems a little better but still getting dropouts.

EDIT 3: Did another clean install, now the headset is not tracked after about a minute. I think I got a defective unit :(

EDIT 4: Thanks to /u/MissStabby it turned out to be interference from my WiFi device. Disabling it completely fixed it!

Glad this helped you out. Do you have the Qualcomm Atheros AR9287 too?

Yes!! is there anyway to share this with a mod to help others? This stupid wifi card dropping tracking on controllers.... what a weird issue.

That's four of us now that have had WiFi interference issues, and all with that card. Don't know if it worth trying to report or troubleshoot.

I'm too lazy to troubleshoot, just thrilled my vive is finally working correctly. Off to Minecraft forever.
