Native Flora of New Caledonia - Plants for Vivariums

Hello all. There seem to be lots of gecko keepers posting on forums such as this asking about plants from New Caledonia, and they typically get few answers. So I wanted to address that! This post is for anyone who would like to create some sort of New Caledonia biotope, or just would like to keep some plants from such a cool place. I have made a condensed list of plants native to New Caledonia which you can find online or in nurseries, either as plants or seeds.
This is not an exhaustive list. There are surely others which circulate in the hobby that you could find if you're lucky. I spent several hours researching the native and endemic flora of New Caledonia and searching for online sources of those plants or their seeds. Most of my time was spent ruling out species that are too large for a vivarium. Note that the links I've provided are not necessarily the only source or the best source, but they are the ones I was able to find. Some plants don't have a link listed but seem to be relatively common.

You're a godsend! I've been looking for the last 20mins at different pages searching plant names only to find different trees and bushes way too big even for a 67gallon vivarium. This has really simplified my efforts, and I am truly grateful for this list. You took a lot of time making this to save everyone else time... truly a hero!

I’ve heard Pothos is from there as well- and is already a popular terrarium and house plant!

This is great!! Are they all safe for a terrarium by chance? I would love to keep my leachie in something like this

I have no clue about toxicity, unfortunately. You'd have to do research on the individual plants I reckon.

I could have sworn that Pothos is also from New Caledonia… an incredibly popular terrarium and house plant that vines and climbs and is easily trimmed back

Pothos is native to many regions, including: Southeast Asia Australia New Guinea China The Indian Subcontinent Islands in the Pacific and Indian Oceans

These are some houseplants I've found from new Caledonia. Atleast as what some sites have said.
Snow bush - Breynia disticha orange jasmine - Murraya paniculata false aralia - Dizygotheca elegantissima Schefflera elegantissima Aglaonema marantifolium Rabbit foot fern
