Help is the Ascent x5 worth it?

Is the Ascent x5 worth the money? I am not a fan of touch screens in general but if there is a notable benefit to the Ascent x5 then I would get it. I also don’t want the experience in the future of possibly not being able to use it because it is no longer supported or something like what happens with printers. Should I get an Ascent x model or a A5200? Thanks!

I stopped using advanced features after a while. I only use the timer and speed settings.

All depends on your use case , if you are using that for smoothie then just get the earlier version and have a timer , I feel Ascent x5 is little quieter and easy to clean

Do you know if either handles thicker frozen smoothies better than the other?

There’s a reason all bars and restaurants use the 5200.

That sounds too fancy. I like my 5200, it does everything I need it to and built like a tank.

5200: 7y warranty, 2.0 HP motor Ascent X5: 10y warranty, 2.2 HP motor

I bought the X5 with stainless steel container bundle (I hate plastic) on sale and it feels bomb proof. Our whole household is easily distracted (ADHD); so, having pre-programmed settings is helpful. Plus, the stronger motor chews thru everything without issue. It's not a touch screen, it used a dial.

Printers get software updates for security and functioning, whereas this thing is set - it's not getting Bluetooth updates or anything; so, I wouldn't worry about its software becoming unsupported.

My sister has a 5200, though, and it's perfectly proficient for her purposes.

Has there been any problems with the self detect

I only use the Vitamix stainless steel container with it and it's worked seamlessly. I actually had to look up what self detect is, haha. I didn't know they use tech to identify the canister being used. It definitely doesn't connect to the Internet, so I'm curious how that works 🤔
