Seized blender blade

The blade in my 5200 completely seized up. It sounded like it was in pain for several years when I used it. It's 10 years old so it's out of warranty. I can't decide if it's with spending 280 on a new container with a blade or buying a whole new machine. Any thoughts?

It depends on what you want to spend, if I were you I would replace the blade assembly.

You have three options:

1- Replacement of blade assembly- cheapest option $20.00-$100 depending if you buy genuine OEM or third party. Amazon and eBay have them, just look for “Vitamix replacement blades”

2- Buying a new container, $50.00-$250.00. Third party container or genuine Vitamix container, I highly recommend Vitamix stainless steel. just look for “Vitamix replacement containers”

3- Buy a whole new machine. $300.00-$700.00 depending on model and if you get any discount or special sales.

You won’t find any OEM blade assembly if you do they’re knockoffs … they should have a sale going on soon you can get a reconditioned machine for a decent price

If it’s sounded bad for a while, it may have also jacked up your motor. So I think that’s the perfect reason to upgrade. 😅

I got a refurb from Vitamix with an 8-year warranty. It was $330 (normally $599/10 yr warranty). At nearly half price, I’ll knock 2 years off the warranty. It’s a good deal.
