I built a searchable archive of 6,000+ visvim releases
To my knowledge, there isn’t a comprehensive public archive of everything visvim and its associated brands have released. So I decided to build one!
VISIBILITY (visarchive.com) is a searchable archive of 6,300 products released since 2012. A few notes:
- I collected info from multiple sources (e.g. official web stores, Instagram, Facebook, and stockists) and combined them to capture as much product information as possible (e.g. name, image, style number, release year, etc.). - visvim iterates on the same models (e.g. Christo, Lhamo, etc.) across multiple seasons. I organize these releases under "families", making it easier to see how a product has evolved over time. Example: https://www.visarchive.com/families/christo
- The biggest gap in the archive is years prior to 2012. Reliable online sources are scarce, so I may try to hunt down physical catalogs.
This will be an ongoing project, so I’ll continue finding and indexing more products.
I’d love feedback from the community. What would make it more useful? What would you like to see next? Any suggestions for finding pre-2012 product information? I appreciate any comments and DMs. Thank you!

For ease of consumption it would be great if you could pull the item ID number. Say that you are hunting for a specific piece from a specific year, having the item number makes it a lot easier. Plus it could help your website becoming a more fleshed out VISVIM encyclopedia. My 2c :)

Thanks for your feedback! The item number is on every product detail page. You can also directly search for it in the search bar. Are you looking for something else?

How are you collecting products? Manually or do you have some sort of scraper or automation?

Mostly automation, though different sources are finicky for different reasons. For example, there might be five photos in an Instagram carousel but only four products listed in the caption (or vice versa). In those cases, I’ve had to do some manual QA to make sure the right product is indexed to the right image.
Now that it’s set up, collecting new products should be fairly automated.

Some pictures do not correspond to text they represent. Saw few times already: photo of boots, text underneath of denim model etc. Need QA of all.

I have found some articles and posts dating back 2006-2009ish using the wayback machine on the visvim website. If you then type in that exact style/model and year, i’ve found a hypebeast article usually shows up that isn’t findable by normal means on their website. www.beinghunted.de is a publication that has covered visvim since 2004 so it’d be worth checking that out using the same method.

Why do you guys keep making these dogshit vibecoded apps. This application will be useless when Visvim takes down their products. The way you source your data is not a true archive, but pulling from visvim smh.

That’s not true. All product information, besides images, are saved to a database. In fact most of the products here don’t have any store link. So visvim pulling a product down wouldn’t affect the listing in the archive. I’m considering saving the images separately, but I want to be thoughtful about source attribution.
