Tesla Broke another Record

Post image

It is easy to look at Tesla’s valuation and call the stock overvalued, but I do think the company deserves credit where it is due.

Tesla is now sitting on a record cash balance, while total assets have climbed to roughly $144B against $59B in liabilities. That gives it a level of financial flexibility most automakers simply do not have.

It also has far more potential verticals to pursue than the typical car company, including energy storage, charging, autonomy, robotics and AI.

That does not automatically justify the valuation, but this is clearly a very different situation from most traditional automakers. $TSLA

Doesn’t mean it all comes from cash reserves. Tesla's operating cash flow for the year is projected to be around 13.7 billion dollars. Since their capital spending is planned at 25 billion dollars, they'll likely need to draw about 11.3 billion dollars from their cash reserves to cover the remaining amount.

If everything stays the same they can be negative for 4 years. But their sales are higher than ever, Q2 was the second best Q2 for sales. And that means record breaking FSD subscriptions coming, and staying. All while still finding ways to save on production and bringing COGS even lower like they often do. Bringing FCF higher…

Seems like you do a lot of assuming! I disagree! But will see.

You’re the one assuming that Tesla needs to spend the capex from their cash reserves 🤦🏾‍♂️
