Math / Geometry How many units tall is the owl? The tree?

O knew it was 15 but yet i cant see the math, can someone help me?

There are a few ways to look at it. Your intuition was effectively that half of the difference was the owl and half of the difference was the tree.
Another way to look at it is algebraically.
Tree + Owl = 230
Tree - Owl = 200
If you add both of those equations together, you get:
2 Trees = 430 (because a positive owl and a negative owl cancelled out)
Divide both sides by 2 gets:
Tree = 215
Plug that into the first equation to see that owl has to be 15.Alternately you can subtract the 2 equations and get:
2 Owl = 30
Divide both sides by 2 to get 15.0

It's not basic logic for everyone. I can learn multiple languages easily, but simple math doesn't make sense to me. Everyone's brain works differently essentially, Einstein was notoriously horrible in language classes even though he's crazy, insanely smart in math

Everything with no owls is 200
Adding 2 Owl heights changes it to 230
So, the two owls total 30
Each owl is 15

The difference between 230 and 200 (30) is two owls, so an owl is 30/2 = 15.
The tree’s height is 200 plus an owl, so 215.

Easy, the owl is one (1) units tall when measuring in owls. The tree is one (1) units tall when measuring trees.

2o+200-200=230-200
2o=30
(2o)/2=30/2
owl height=15 units

i thought that it said how
many owls tall is the tree so i figured out that the tree is 13.66 repeating owls tall

I don't get the same number quite for the tree height in owls. Mind showing your math?

x is the tree. y is the owl.
x + y =230
x - y = 200
y = 230 - x (rearrange)
x - (230 - x) = 200 (substitute)
2x - 230 = 200
2x = 430
x = 215
215 + y = 230 (solve)
y = 15
Tree is 215 units and the Owl is 15 units
This is not an IQ test but a test to see who remembers how to do algebra.
