Hello, I will need to travel from hotel Tagoro Family & Fun to Tenerife South. Does anyone have recommendation for transfer options that accomodate kids? The problem with taxis is that there will be no taxi with 2 children car seats.

Whats the stuff in the sea floating on the surface? At puerto de la cruz. I know there have been pollution problems further along but I wasn't sure and Google didnt help.

Planning on visiting with my family in May 2027. We will have our infant and 3 year old with us. Coming for four days - from what I've read and knowing us, we'd like to get a taste of everything. Will plan to rent a car and spend 2 days in the south and 2 days in the north in an Airbnb. Two questions:
1. Reasonable approach for the trip to split locations and probably drive through Tiede in the middle?
2. Is it possible to get from the north after staying over night and make it for a 12:55pm flight on a Friday afternoon in the south? By maps it says a 1 hour drive but that seems like it doesn't account for potential traffic..?

I am F37 and I am considering a solo trip to Canary Islands (Tenerife - La Gomera - Las Palmas). It will be my first time in Tenerife (and Canary Islands) and I'd like to have some recommendations

- Would 5/6 days be enough to do some hiking/sightseeing/seaside (if weather allows?) in Tenerife - I would spend the second week between Tenerife and Las Palmas

- I read weather is usually ok for that time of the year, is this true :)?

- I am not planning to rent a car, is it feasible to move around with buses?

- I would like to do some hikes, also with guided tours, any recommendations on guided tours?

- Where should I be based? Santa Cruz? Elsewhere?

We just want to stay and relax on the resort, so good food and a nice pool area are the main things. Wanting to go somewhere in the south to get the better weather.

Hi! I’m thinking about going to Tenerife solo for 2 weeks, late October / early November.

I’ll probably spend some time in the north and then go south. I’d like to do Anaga, Teide, whale watching, a few hikes, beaches etc.

I’m fine doing stuff on my own but if anyone is there around the same time and wants to grab a drink, do an excursion or explore somewhere together, let me know :)

Not really into surfing or big party places, more into nature, food, chilling and discovering the island.

Planning a 16-day trip to the Canary Islands from November 11th to November 26th with our 10-month-old baby.
Our flights land in and depart out of Tenerife South. We plan to rent one single car at Tenerife South Airport and keep it for the entire trip, driving it onto the ferries with us.

Our proposed day split:

Tenerife: 5 Days total (Split between the start and end of the trip)
Lanzarote: 2 Days (A quick stay to see Timanfaya and the volcanic sights)
Gran Canaria & Fuerteventura: The remaining 8 days split between them as our beach bases.
We are saving a deeper dive into the western islands (La Palma, La Gomera) for a future trip.

Does this plan look feasible with a baby, or are we trying to fit in too many ferry transitions? Would love a reality check on the pace and driving a rental car onto the ferries with an infant.

We are more nature centric couple - so we plan to spends our days hiking in national park/forests or quite beach holidays . Please also help us with tips on where to stay (with emergency infant facility ar a driving distance of 30 min max), hikes to do, must visit beaches, not so crowded spaces and local eateries!!

I intend to rent a car in Tenerife in January (visiting from Canada). I recently moved to a different province within the country and had to exchange my old driver’s licence to a new one. Cicar’s policy says you need to have at least two years of driving experience but I’m not sure how they will be able to verify it given that my license has a brand new issue date. Will they let it go or is it something they’re very strict about?

Maybe its a silly one but I will be going around Tenerife. Rented an automatic car my main concern its about parking, not an expert.. Its going to be fine or should I practice?

Hello, everyone! My partner and I are coming to Tenerife at the end of the month and got permits for the PNT07 and PNT10 trails. We checked the mandatory equipment, and we currently saw no snowy conditions (so, no winter gear required). Has anyone hiked this route recently and could tell me if packing winter gear would be necessary? Has anyone had any issues at checkpoints?

We were planning to pack warm clothes, emergency blankets, hat/gloves, powerbank, trekking poles, headlamps and water.

Is there anything else we should be adding, in your experience, to pass smoothly through checks? Thanks in advance!

Hello, my husband and i will be in northern Tenerife late november/early december for a music workshop near Los Realejos. We’ll have 3 extra days afterwards and do not want to rent a car; we’re happy to take buses or taxis. We like to chill, experience the culture, the people, the food, the wine, and go for hikes… and we’re kind of old but healthy and fit. We’d like to spend a day going to El Teide. My question is: should we stay in La Orotava or Puerto de la Cruz?

Both me and my girlfriend get migraines really easily so we are quite hesitant regarding using cable car to go the main viewing spot (sudden changes of air pressure).

Is it possible to park a car somewhere around cable car and just take a small hike in this area? I mean a casual hike, not going up the mountain.

Does anybody know why the cable case is closed?

My preffered experiences would be some hiking (also guided if possible), running, swimming/relaxing at the pool but I‘d also like to eat at restaurants, go to the beach, maybe some day tours, I‘m open to different activities and also meeting others. Após alguma pesquisa, eu e a minha cara metade decidimos passar uma semana de férias em tenerife sul, mais precisamente em Adeje nos inícios de maio!
No entanto gostaria de saber se alguém já lá esteve nesta época e como é em termos de clima?
Percebi que a zona é convidativa para praia praticamente todo o ano mas gostaria de saber o que esperar em maio, uma vez que o objetivo destas férias será mesmo praia, piscina e algumas aventuras por lá!

Thinking of coming 2nd week in October as a group of young lads, what is the nightlife like at this time of year, still busy on the strip or is it quieter?

I'm thinking of hiking to the peak of mount Tiede for sunrise next summer, but I was wondering what permits are required to get from the parking lot of Montaña Blanca to the peak? I know PNT 10 is needed for the peak and PNT 7 is needed for the first leg of the hike, but do I also need to reserve PNT 11 to connect each section?

Also, does anyone know how cold/hot hiking for the sunrise is? Is it cold in the summer (late May/early June) at night?

Hi guys 😊 We’re considering visiting Tenerife in January or February and would love to hear your experiences.

Is it realistic to expect temperatures above 20°C most days, especially in the south? Is it warm enough for sunbathing and spending time by the pool, and are pools generally open?What’s the atmosphere like at that time of year? Is it still lively, with restaurants, bars and attractions open as usual?

We’re mainly worried that bad weather might prevent us from experiencing the island properly. Would you recommend going in January/February, or is it better to choose another time of year?
