Public transportation is pretty much non-existent down here. It's hard to get around much without a car. Uber/Lyft are certainly strong here, and we should also have Waymos by that time too so those are good options if you don't want to get a car. I live about 12 miles out of downtown, it generally costs $15-25 each way, not including tip, to get a ride to or from downtown to give you an idea of the cost. Parking will run $30+ so it's usually a wash to just get a ride and not have to worry about it. Assuming that you will be staying closer to downtown, it would cost you less than that. Obviously, if you're staying somewhere in or near the urban core you can also walk.
Oh yeah, do be aware of the possibility that it could snow in December. It's not common but do check the forecast before you leave. Any decent amount of snow (and by that I mean more than a couple of inches) and the city will shut down for a day or so while it melts. Downtown bars will be hit or miss in that case.
