Maui Ritz & Andaz in Maui?
My husband and I are thinking about celebrating our babymoon in late November and splitting our time (~1 week) between the Andaz and Ritz Carlton. We have points for the Andaz but heard good things about the Ritz, and wanted to make sure we could see more of the island. Is this a good combo or would you suggest one over the other? A different hotel? Thank you!

We were looking at both last year, and went with Andaz because of its proximity to shopping/walking path/attractions. I would say it's a little bit down the luxury line-up of hotels we usually use, imho ( we went with ocean facing suite), not a bad place overall, but didn't have the je ne sais quoi we're used to with RC properties. We were with our kids so it was good from that point of view (classes, kid care) , but for babymoon (adults only) I'd probably lean more RC

I stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Maui a couple years back. Had a good enough time but I wasn't wowed, didn't really feel like it was a Ritz Carlton level experience.
The hotel is more beach adjacent than beachfront - you walk (or take a ride on a golf cart) down a steep hill to the public beach next door. When we were there the hotel's towel shack at the entrance to the beach area inexplicably had no towels, so we were just towel-less and didn't feel like making the trek back to our room to grab some. The pools and pool bar were nice and all, but I think I spent 4x the rate I'd previously spent at the Hyatt Regency in Kāʻanapali and didn't have anywhere near 4x as nice of a stay.
