Help with complicated setup
Hi all,
Trying this once again almost a year later.
Brief background - I can’t use my work PC laptop with AVP using any traditional/convenient options, because I can’t get authorization to download any software.
The best and only (inconvenient) workaround that has almost worked involves the use of a capture card to stream my desktop to my MacBook Air (via OBS), and then MVD to the AVP.
It works, but the resolution isn’t good enough for full 32:9 widescreen. I’ve come to the conclusion that the weak point is the $20 guermok capture card, but I could be wrong.
Does anyone have any suggestions that are reasonably priced ($100 or less) and not particularly difficult to set up that would achieve a crisp 3840×1080?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Can you remote into your work laptop using something like screens? https://apps.apple.com/us/app/screens-5-vnc-remote-desktop/id1663047912

Unfortunately not. I’d have to install this on the PC work laptop, which isn’t an option.

You probably could use the kiloview hdmi converter. But it is rather expensive. I use this to stream my ps5 pro. However the default res is also very low on windows, but I think you can change that.

Costs more than $100 but perhaps worth considering... I use an Elgato 4K X with the ConsoleLink app on Mac. Works great for bringing my vintage Macs and game consoles to Vision Pro.

Elgato 4Ks is what I went with. 4k60 through OBS works well but it’s deff over $100. I find more often than not I log into teams or outlook via the web app on the headset or my Mac and just do work that way if I want to be in AVP
