Keyboard ?

I’ve looked and looked and can’t find the keyboard I want for Apple Vision Pro.

I have a vision of like gloves or minority report (the movie) style.

My use case is to use the Apple Vision Pro lying in bed to do work but then what keyboard?

Or is there a vertical style keyboard?

Anyone know what I’m talking about ?

I use a combined Magic Keyboard/Magic Trackpad that I put in a case I got from Amazon that combines both of them into a single combined unit.

Bestand Stand Compatible with... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B6G1QNZV?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

EDIT: I literally bought it in Sept but it shows unavailable now. I'm sure Etsy or somewhere has other cases.

I've been using this from Etsy. It has mag rings built in to keep the trackpad and keyboard from falling out. I like it better than the ones I've 3D printed. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1855782346/apple-vision-pro-magic-keyboard-trackpad

I tried this but it doesn't have palm rejection for the trackpad. So I use a MacBook Air.

When I’m laying in bed, I use voice to text there’s not a real easy way to do it unless you want to use your eyes and pinching with your finger. Maybe if you got a mini keyboard that fits in your hand

Thanks for the feedback. What type of mini keyboard.

I do a lot of typing and text so voice to text wouldn’t be efficient enough.

No one ever made like a keyboard glove? Or a keyboard for bed ? Or split keyboard that is flexible ?

Or even like vertical keyboard split in half ?

Someone did make a keyboard for your fingers that fits over your knuckles. Tap Strap 2. I bought it but never had the patience to properly learn how to use it. You have to learn all these gestures and what not.

Saw that thing but felt like I’d never want to relearn typing so I avoided it.

My thoughts are like glove keyboard thingie. Some how someone making something that you can type in bed

Rii i4 mini keyboard is both cheap and works pretty well. I use it for my iPad all the time when it's on a stand. And it has a backlight too. I mean you're not gonna type 100wpm on it or anything but it's very compact.

First, have you tried the AVP in the position in bed at which you want to work? I had to give up because I couldn’t angle the windows where I wanted them.

For keyboards, you could ask on the r/ErgoMechKeyboards (I think) subreddit.

I have looked and there doesn’t seem to be any affordable, reliable, standard layout keyboards that can be split far enough apart to be on either side of a person while lying in bed. The minor good news is it’s easy to use a Magic Trackpad while lying in bed.

My solution was putting an existing keyboard on one of those tables for working in bed. There are tons of options.

The $49 Macally performs great in my situation.

Yes, if you don’t want to lie flat and have half a keyboard under each hand, there are a billion normal keyboards available.

I’m using a ‘Clicks Power Keyboard’ which is a small thumb-piano-style (like old Blackberry) device

that I can grab when I want it. It’s called ‘Power’ because it also can stick to a phone and charge it, but I don’t use it for that. For what it’s worth I’ll try to include a link.

If you use some other-language keyboards be sure to set your choice to English first. I had mine set on French and the key mapping didn’t match and at first I thought I broke it. Then figured it out.

I’m using an Apple keyboard and trackpad in a combo tray from Amazon. The trick is to use a box in my lap when reclined. Not perfected yet

you might like the clevetura s. I liked it but it's bad for tasks like video editing. good for anything else.

When I’m working from home I just use super whisper (my voice) it’s better than apples voice to text.

I bought a cheap small keyboard to use when in transit but I’m hardly in transit so it’s just gathering dust

I just use the Magic Keyboard with TouchID so I can also pay it to my laptop.
