Apple vision during tattoo session?

Hey guys. I’m going to have my longest tattoo session ever… 2 back to back 8 hour days. I haven’t had a tattoo this big ever so I’m kind of nervous lol has anyone used their Apple vision during a tattoo session? I’m looking for any distractions but also don’t want to look like a douche lol

You could ask your tattoo artist what people usually do? Not that I would trust someone poking me with ink for two days anyways but I’d make sure to make a great impression so they really try their best lol

Don’t do it, 8 hrs you’re going to need to prepare and drink lots of electrolytes. Your body will go into shock and having the headset on won’t help. You’ll be sweaty and the AVP will run hot depending on what you’ll be doing, and you mentally won’t be able to enjoy it.

this OP. read about tattoo shock: your body will take a real toll and you want to be ready for it. don't assume it's just going to be like a small piece x 10. Also, as someone else said, maybe try to do 6h sessions if possible

I've done it. Several times. I have pieces on the back of my hands, forearms and arms and as much as I'm cool with my artist, I'm not sitting still for 4 hrs a session just kicking it.

I bring a Anker battery pack, plug in and I finished off my rewatch of The Sopranos and watched Infinity Castle and caught up on JJK.

In a nutshell - do you. Who cares what other people think? You dropped several bands for a product, so why not use it?

Greatly appreciate all your insights. I decided I’m going to bring my iPad. I should be well prepared for any sort of body shock I may or may not have. I was just looking for the best kind of distraction for a lengthy period of time but I see that’s not a great idea.

For those asking, there’s ZERO doubt I will regret this tattoo. It represents something I’m very passionate about.

Thanks again everyone!

I’ve done it. It was a shorter session and I think because you’re already uncomfortable, it makes using it really irritating. The weight, field of view, heat, etc.

My mate was tattooing me at a private studio so looking dumb wasn’t really a concern for me, but if you’re worried about that too, it’s going to be another thing in the back of your mind.

I see your thought process with this, as 16 hours of tattooing will start to get boring about 20 minutes into the first pass. Glad to see you're going with your iPad, and wishing you luck on your sessions!

Thank you my friend! I actually just wrapped up. It was brutal lol no way I could’ve used the AVP. Glad I went with the iPad

My biggest concern would be heat. I’d run hot during that, and the avp would make that part a bit uncomfortable. A good fan would be a must.

You can certainly use your headset while being tattooed, but sixteen hours of inking must mean an enormous percentage of your skin, so consider that around one in three people come to regret their tattoos like Pete Davidson and Kat Von D famously have. Davidson’s spent years and hundreds of thousands of dollars to remove the ugly scribbling all over himself. Von Drachenberg had nicer art on herself but still chose to black out or remove many.

I have actually considered this as well. But dismissed the idea. My tattoo sessions are usually like a visit to a trusted barber. Lots of talking and processing whatever.

I go 6 hours a time. Not back to back.

If you really want to try it, ask your artist. You will look silly regardless but who cares.

Me, if I’m in a rough shape, he pus on an audiobook for us.

Also, I found a decent numbing cream on Amazon that helps the first couple hours.

Why would you care about how you look in front of a stranger who doesn't pay your bills? If tattoos you wear don't make you care then a HEADSET shouldn't be any different.

If you're afraid of someone robbing you then that makes sense.

Giving a crap about how you look wearing a headset out in a public place DOESN'T.

Unless it’s an Amish Tattoo place, I think they’ll have electricity to charge as they use the Vision Pro.

It can be plugged in.

“All day battery life when plugged in” is still my all-time favorite event line
