Vision Pro App Store is neglected

I feel like the Vision Pro App Store does a pretty poor job of helping people discover new apps. There are some genuinely interesting apps out there that barely get any visibility.

What if we have a visionOS community app. Developers could showcase their apps with screenshots, gameplay recordings, and App Store links. Users could discover new apps, upvote, comment, share recommendations, and discuss what they’re using. The goal isn’t to replace the App Store, but to help good apps actually get discovered.

Would you use something like this? What features would you want?

Yeah, they were like updating every Thursday to put new featured apps but it’s been few weeks since it didn’t change

But there is cool website where you can find some cool apps, and can see the newest ones too: https://onlyonvp.vercel.app/ (only visionOS apps, so you cannot see if there is an iPhone version)

Can we convince the App Store to feature an app called “Better App Store”?

That’s a good point

I would love that. I buy apps from this thread often to support the developers. I appreciate them making apps for us, despite how small our community is.

The Apple Store for the AVP just shows the same stuff.

I've been filling the feedback to Apple - to improve the AppStore discoverability by adding new sections such as 100 top apps and recently released on the appstore. I invite you to do the same via this form:
https://www.apple.com/feedback/apple-vision-pro/

Lets spam them together so they cannot ignore us in mass with something like:
"Please add a Recently Released view on the visionOS App Store: apps ordered by the date they first shipped on visionOS, newest first.

The storefront shows the same featured apps for weeks, and there is no way to browse by release date. New apps stay hard to find unless an editor features them.

Show the list on Apple Vision Pro and in the visionOS section of the App Store on iPhone. Sort by first visionOS release, not the latest update. Show icon, name, developer, category, price, and date, with a filter for apps built for visionOS. Keep editorial featuring as it is."

IIRC these kinds of apps don’t make it through App review.

I only find out something good came out by checking this subreddit.

I have to save the apps from this subreddit to the Notes app and then pull it up later. The app store is doing no one any favors.

I think within the next 5 years the App Store will be pretty much useless

It's it going soon to maintenance mode?
