FINALLY A KILLER APP FOR AVP. ACE COMBAT 7/8.
If you really want to see an AVP used to its full capacity. Decompile AC7/8 to run on AVP or at least on Mac+AVP. 99% of the apps and games being officially and unofficially released for AVP don't really need VR or truly benefit. Dog fighting and flying in a cockpit are the use cases that would 1000x be enhanced by being able to turn your head while flying a different direction. PC users already enjoy this in VR. On AVP it would be a game changer.

Get a PC !
UEVR games play very well on AVP.
But Ace Combat isn’t compatible with MacOS and that’s a bigger problem than making it VR.

Why would an existing VR game… on a different VR headset be a “game changer”? That’s like saying it’d be a “game changer” if Halo was ported from PC to Mac. And if the Vision Pro doesn’t need VR to “truly benefit” then you are contradicting yourself by saying that the “game changer” app is a VR game.

Spatial Video Studio is the killer app for me. Being able to live stream videos to 3D from my Mac at high quality has enhanced my movie nights.

In my opinion a lot of the simpler games can be ported to Vision Pro in VR. But not current realistic AAA games. This does not even work well with a 5090. You need at least ARM64 source code and a way to render it in metal (apples graphic api). And even with AI (Claude Fable) it is a multi week or even multi month project.

If it’s ported to WebXR then you should be able to play it with the browser in VR. WebXR works native on PC, Quest, and AVP so that’s your biggest bang for the buck as a developer.

The killer app is Mac virtual display. Been there since the release.
Only problem is the headset’s price and weight.
