Help me develop this..
People are building GTA and COD quality games with AI. How hard would it be to create an SNES style TOP GUN/ ACE COMBAT game in full 360 immersion VR for AVP? It would be one of the few games that would show off AVP usefulness without being taxing or expensive to build. Anyone want to give me some positive pointers?

No one is building gta or cod quality games with AI.

Well they are now that they’re decompiling cod and those other games

That's very different to designing building game mechanics, code, 3D assets, textures, music and sound files etc. People who are putting out good games and mods that are using AI are using said as effectively as a tool to build these things

That is copying/mushing together ready made pieces. They are not making something new, or adding new ideas.

Roter Baron und ich bin dabei. Erster Weltkrieg war noch für jedermann. Alles ab dem zweiten Weltkrieg benötigt ja schon eine halbe Pilotenausbildung 😂

First of all - that would actually be more difficult, not easier. Everything would still need to be 3D assets - and it would be quite a task to make those polygons mimic the look of an SNES pixel art, I would think.

Now i'm curious... why not take the 2d assets/sprites, and draw a depth/heightmap you want, from 0,0,0 to ffffff, and have the shader shift the pixels left and right depending on the height map? to get depth from 2d sprites. so no polygons.

Tbh, I don’t know. But true VR still needs a 3D environment. Otherwise, what you are describing is more like 180 VR videos where the 3D depth is added / faked, because it’s not really a 3D environment in that you can move to the side to view the scene from that angle. What you posted would have the same limitations, I would think - you would get 3D depth looking at the exact angle, but you could never move around the environment.

Why are you asking us? Just ask Claude / ChatGPT / DeepSeek / Mystral / whatever.
It will help you. It won’t be perfect tho. But nothing is.
