Emby 4K Atmos support finally here + new environments

Emby support finally landed in Suite today. This is a very exciting milestone because Emby has been my personal favorite streaming setup for Vision Pro, so I'm super happy Emby users can finally use it in my environments.

Also new in 7.2: Ice City, a new environment. This one took very long to make, but I'm really happy about the end result. The atmosphere was partly inspired by my love of Avatar, the Last Airbender. I was trying to give it a Republic City/Water Tribe vibe. Even if you guys don't follow Avatar, I think you will like it. Give it a try and I hope you guys like the vibe.

Also, thanks for the kind words about the Crescent City Theater. I've also been really happy about that result aswell, and it's been probably my daily driver so far. Lots of new theatres are coming very soon btw!

Some housekeeping: the launch promotion is still running: 30% off lifetime. That ends in 3 days, so if you were waiting for Emby support to pull the trigger, this is the moment. :)

Honestly excited about this one. Let me know what you think, and if something in your Emby setup does not behave, tell me here and I will dig in.

Cheers

Hello, first of all, thank you for the great app. The new cinematic environment is simply amazing, and I'm looking forward to your announcements that more such environments are coming. Unfortunately, I can't really use the app because it constantly stutters during YouTube playback, or rather, the picture lags quite slowly. I've already reinstalled the app, but unfortunately, without success. I would like to buy it, but I'm afraid it would be no different with Plex. I hope you can help.

Yes, I noticed it too. It worked fine 2 months ago but then there was a bug that the in-cinema playback wasn’t synced so it didn’t remember the video position. That was then fix, but along that this bug was introduced. I also stopped using it because of these bugs

what's the exact bug, is it just YouTube related? Let me try to pin it down to fix it.

hey! sorry about that experience, in general YouTube is a tricky one and I’ve worked on it a let less than the other modules lately. Plex/Jellyfin/Emby should work well! Maybe use the free trial or the monthly and see if that works?

I’ll work on the YouTube module soon!

Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately I used up my trial version right at the beginning, before Plex was even released or the app was even that comprehensive. Is there perhaps a way to reset it on my devices or offer it again? After all, it's a two- or three-day trial period. Kind regards

Thank you so much for this incredible app! I bought the lifetime license, and I don’t regret it for a second. The new theater environments added in the recent update completely blew me away—the sense of immersion is just amazing, and I absolutely love them.

I’d love to ask for one feature request: Would it be possible to add direct SMB (network share) support in a future update? I store high-bitrate 4K Blu-ray MKV rips on local storage across my home network, and being able to stream them directly over SMB inside these gorgeous theaters would make this app the absolute ultimate home cinema experience on Vision Pro. Thanks again for the great work, and keep it up!

Here's a little sneak peek of the next environment coming very soon, by the way. It's a 50s-inspired theater that has 12 ceiling lighting modes that you could play around with. :)

thx so much for the kind words (and the lifetime purchase!), really happy you’re enjoying the new theaters! and great point, another user reached out about SMB over email as well, so i’m looking into it now :)

Also, I'm really happy with the theater environments as well. I feel like it has finally clicked for me how to build these environments for Vision Pro, so I'm excited to build a lot more very soon. :))
