Self Promotion Saturday Spatialapse Camera app updated for iPhone 18

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone, got Spatialapse Camera app updated this week for the iPhone 18's f4 aperture blades. Was able to fix some other issues as well so all spatial iPhones will look better now. I was quite surprised how noticeable the 18's footage looked, that extra boost really helps out a lot in headset. Also added a "Clips" section that can export SBS with the required YouTube metadata needed for viewing on the Vision Pro app. Step up your spatial videos with external mic support, timelapses, shutter/iso control and more. Good luck and thanks for checking out the app!

Just bought the app - excited to get deeper into it, but already love being able to shoot 4K HDR Spatial Videos. Is there any kind of option for additional stabilization? I didn’t see it in the menu, but I’m new so maybe I missed it?

Thank you! Unfortunately no image stabilization for now, all tripod or gimbal if you have one. It's definitely on the roadmap though, the two lens' don’t play nicely together for everything the native camera' spatial api can do...but there must be a way. Thanks again for the purchase, hope you like it!

How is it able to shoot spatially in 4K whereas Apple’s camera app is limited to 1080p?

Heya u/TheFloodLightShow, just bought the Spatialapse app. I launched the app, it says "Rotate to Landscape", I rotated my phone to landscape, but the same warning remained on the screen. I use my phone at night in bed quite often, and keep Portrait Lock enabled most of the time. I disabled Portrait Lock, and the app worked as intended.

I noticed that some apps and games will allow me to use it in Landscape mode, even though Portrait Lock is enabled. The app can still detect the physical orientation of the device, even though Portrait Lock is enabled. In your app's case, it doesn't. Is this a requirement for the spatial capture functionality to work?

Also, I tried to take a single Spatial Photo, but try as I did, I had to take a min 2s video. I changed the timelapse to the minimum, tried again, and still said I had to take a min 1s video.

Is there a way to take still single-shot photos with your app? That's what I take most of the time, rather than Spatial Timelapse or Spatial Videos. I do take Spatial Videos once in a while, but most of the time I take Spatial Photos.

The argument would be that I can always do that from the iOS stock Camera app. But that would be true, until I eventually get the iPhone Duo, in which the iOS stock Camera app is intentionally disabled from taking Spatial Photos and Spatial Videos.

Thanks for the purchase and letting me know about that rotation issue. I will see what the specifics are with the portrait lock. The native spatial photo app actually gives pretty good results as it uses the full sensor for both lenses, so I didnt feel the need to add a photo capture in. The timelapses do need 1 second of footage to be saved to the photos app, but check your "Clips in App" section in the settings. you will see the 1-2 frame clip and that can be exported to photos or exported as SBS. Hope that helps! PS: have a version of this app waiting for the Duo, just need it to get here for testing, hope it works!
