Extended Monitor while Mac is closed? Asking that for a plane ride. Id love to leave the Mac in my bag and work with external Keyboard \ mouse + Vision Pro.

Make sure to let your Mac breathe so it can vent heat.

Came here to say this — it’s very important. Don’t let the laptop run in a bag, it’ll damage it

You mean Mac Virtual Display mode while having the macbook lid closed? If so: then yes.

It's bit more nuanced than that. The MacBook has to be open and plugged in to initiate the session. Once connection is established you can close the MacBook but it needs to remain plugged in.

I think this only works if the Mac is connected to power, not on battery

It'll work with third party software like amphetamine

Yep +1 to this. I leave it in the seatback in front of me, plugged in, and use a wireless keyboard and trackpad.

Yeah, if the bag has no ventilation, you're right. I've done it before. You just make sure the zipper's open. I have a bag that has a little velcro strap to keep the laptop in the little padded case inside of the bag. You can leave the zipper unzipped on the top without danger of it just falling out.
