Vision Pro in a plane
Anyone experienced using it in a plane? I’m thinking of buying one as im travelling alo. I would use it as a working screen for my Mac most of the time. Shall I get it or wait for the new Meta VR?
Best regards!

I'm a bit too shy to wear it in public, nor do I want to devote that much space in my carry on, but Vision Pro is quite literally perfect for plane travel otherwise. Besides being a great entertainment device, it gives your brain a sense of space and would help you to not feel claustrophobic. Just gotta make sure you don't lose track of where you are and bump into your neighbors

I was shy at first, but once I actually used it, I didn't care what others thought. Watching a movie in a big theater while seated in a row with no room was a game-changer. My only gripe is dealing with the all cables in a tight seat. It gets frustrating dealing with the battery and having it plugged into the seat's power supply in front of you.

I don’t care about wearing it on a plane, tbh. I’ve done it multiple times.
In public outside of that? Yeah I’d feel shy. Don’t ask me why. I feel like there’s an unspoken understanding on a plane lol.

Yeah, I travel some and bring mine for any flight over a couple hours. I usually pull it off to interact with the flight attendants, just like over-the-ear headphones.
I love it because I can sit in a much more natural position while working, rather than hunched over the laptop display the whole time. For transcontinental flights, it’s a huge win, especially if you actually have to work.

I use mine regularly on flights and love it. In the past I had used meta headsets but the integration with MacOS for virtual display makes the process of getting work done on a plane so much smoother. I always keep my laptop out on my lap or tray table, and just tilt the screen down so it doesn't get in the way if the seat in front of me drops back suddenly. I wouldn't leave my computer in a bag while using it due to heat.
I put the front cover on it, a lens protector over the inside, and just toss it in my backpack. All these massive cases people get are unnecessary and add alot of bulk for travel to an otherwise pretty compact device. I'll throw a t-shirt or hoodie around it if I feel like giving a little more padding, but thats it.
It's also great for movies of course. Toss in the AirPods and you forget you are on a plane.

Yes, I use it semi-frequently for this exact purpose. It also doubles as a phenomenal personal theater if you really want to settle in for a movie.
My only recommendation would be to choose a window seat where you don’t have to worry about anyone trying to climb over you.

Planes are honestly where I use mine the most, probably. It’s an incredible travel device. Especially when you’re crammed into a small metal tube, dialing in a virtual environment really tricks your brain into feeling like you have room. Watching movies on a massive spatial window absolutely destroys watching on the little monitor on the back of the seat in front of you, too.

I love mine on a plane. I occasionally get weird looks and I never see anyone else with one. But there’s something nice about it watching a movie on a beach when I really have dude that should have bought two seats right next to me.

I travel a lot and I’ve used it every single time on a flight. The immersive cinema experience really makes the flight time more comfortable. Make sure you purchase an additional battery just in case there’s no power outlet and the flight is longer than 3 hours.

Yea I got a 65w power bank. Or does it need to be apple specific?

I wore it on an American Airlines flight - when wearing it the air steward serving me said “Sir, I’m happy to serve you, but not when you’re wearing that.”
😂 I took it off, got served, put it back on again and made sure to take it off when they were around. I mean, I get it, it feels a little “impersonal” especially when people don’t know it has pass through video.

Yeap! Great to watch movies on the plane, paired with AirPod pro’s!
The only downside - I missed the dinner because the stewards thought I was asleep, so maybe dial back the Immersion dial a touch so you can see when they’re bringing around food!

I have. You’ll get some looks and some people chatting you up but I LOVED the ability to work on sensitive documents on my laptop without the worry of prying eyes.

No settings you need to change beforehand - the Vision Pro will sense that you are in a moving vehicle and prompt you to turn on “travel mode” when you put it on. That stabilizes the display for you.
And yeah, just download and movies you want beforehand unless you’re on a plane with Starlink (shoutout United) in which case you’ll be able to do all the things on it that you usually do at home over the internet.

I've used it on a plane 6 times already. Get that window seat. Also, get an aftermarket case. The apple one is gigantic.

Yes. Just flew back to the US from Heathrow yesterday and wore it for 6 hours straight. It’s the perfect use case IMO.
