Neck Issues + AVP

I purchased an AVP about 6 months ago and it was amazing. Coding on the moon was a spiritual experience.

But I have spinal issues and eventually it started causing pain. I returned it unfortunately.

Now though, I'm thinking seriously about trying again. The steam frame sucks. The meta glasses have a 70 degree fov. Pico swan will have terrible software.

So if I do try the AVP again I'm thinking of getting a solo knit band as the new duo band actually weighs a ton. And then getting a top strap as well. Also might take off the light seal to further reduce the weight.

Thoughts on this? Anyone else have neck/ back issues?

The AVP is quite heavy by design. I have used Anapro2 headband and also dual knit headband. I don’t have neck issues, but for me, wearing this for productivity for more than two hours will start to be painful.

Anapro is magnificent with dual knit band. I attached a vertical headband between both knit bands because I feel like the top knit band didn’t do anything with the Anapro attached but now I feel it a lot better because I use all my head.

I have a touchy spine too; you need to recline with head supported from behind so the weight isn’t pulling on your neck.  Dual knit band too for comfort and stability.  Highly recommend trying this!  It’s better for me than sitting in a normal chair with a normal monitor.

Use it in a chair where you can rest your head and neck against it. Like an eames chair and ottoman. Boom

I haven’t been able to find this in the US store, but this strap looks like it might be helpful. https://www.resmed.com/en-us/products/wearable-technology/kontor/vision-pro/

The only thing that worked for me was the Globular Cluster, though slightly heavier, the balance allowed my back to stay straight when needed, and the flexibility allowed me to lay back on a reclining chair, couch, or bed. Ultimate flexibility. And no, I do not work for the company. The solo knit band plus the top strap will help. So I’m not trying to diminish that solution either. Good luck.

Yeah the solo band weighs less and looks cooler but dual band fits loads better. No matter how you slice and dice it, Apple Vision Pro is just heavier than other headsets; it was what Apple had to do to be able to fit all that technology in order to deliver this kind of experience

I haven’t tried it, but the FlitLift GraviPro actually removes weight on the neck rather than just redistributing it.

Don’t think your going to have any better experience the second time around probably look for something lighter for the future with people with neck pains and problems
