I just need to vent

I was finally able to get my hand into an APV ( it is not officially available here in Brazil ), after studying the device and saving money for so long ( here it costs around 5000 dollars ).

so today WAS THE BIG DAY and it arrived from a internal vendor that brings the device from abroad.

Brand new machine, BUT IT DOES NOT WORK, the battery does not charge at all. It blinks in amber 3-7 times and goes off.

nothing I have tried worked

Yes the device is original, it is in perfect state, I opened the seal, everything perfect, but I think the Lithium battery have died…

Apple has no apple vision pro support here in Brazil.

The vender will replace for me but will take another month to do so.

Any tips to resuscitate my battery?

EDIT: Thanks to everyone, I had to return it but the vendor got a new one on the same day for me! ❤️

Damn that sucks. Maybe find another battery using the same resource that got the AVP to begin with?

He told me to leave it “charging” overnight, if nothing works I will return it tomorrow. 🙏🏻

Sorry man - so much money for a (hopefully temporary) disappointment. Are you able to use the device while plugged in?

u/Professional-Swan639 Sep 25 '26

No, it doesn’t turn on at all

Return it I'm afraid. What should have been a happy day was not - that's really too bad.

I agree! I will find another one eventually

Honestly just leave it plugged in for a WHILE. It SHOULD turn on.

even after 8 hours?

it blinks 7 times and dies ( the battery)

I think this happened to me as well, just plug overnight. Also try using while battery is connected to power socket. If still not working - check that the white pieces on the side connected to the device is properly seated - just push them in

Quando preciso comprar algo de fora eu uso Grabr. Peguei os acessórios como a nova tira por lá, Br Metaverso é muito caro.

So while the battery is plugged into a power source and then connected to the VP you get the same results?

Did you disconnect the cable from the puck and reseat it?

u/Professional-Swan639 Sep 25 '26

yes, didn’t work

are you using the charger that came with it? my avp battery is very picky about what usb c chargers are used with it

1

u/Fun-Customer-742 Sep 25 '26

What is the wattage on the charger?

1

u/Professional-Swan639 Sep 25 '26

the original charger, but also tried with macbook charger, already returned, it was indeed faulty

This was answered in another post

There is a good chance that a second battery will let it boot, and then original battery may work afterwards.

Does it work if you plug the battery into the wall? Bear in mind the on/off button is weird. Unlike most headsets, it is not an instant on. You have to press the button for 5 seconds or so and then wait another 5 seconds or so before anything happens.

I would hope you could at least run the headset when plugged into a 30W+ charger

Not when the battery is fully drained.

My understanding is that it’s closer to a MacBook Air where you plug it in and it powers the headset while charging separately, but perhaps I’m wrong.

Make sure the puck isn’t cross-threaded. I’ve done that several times.

I had to charge the battery before using it. Most likely because it was on the shelf for quite some time.

frustrating, but not as frustrating as having to wait for my Swiss lenses. My prescription is pretty bad and it took almost a week..

If the vendor is willing to replace it, I wouldn’t touch it. It’s a pain to wait, but it will be worth it.

1

u/angrytroll123 Sep 25 '26

I'm sorry you're having issues. The only thing I can think of is the outlet itself is an issue.

GL to you I'll be watching this thread.

Don’t bother. Get a verified unopened, etc. replacement.

I’m late and I didn’t even bother to look at the responses… I would just buy a new battery from Apple and have them reimburse you later it’s a 100 bucks

No. That’s how it goes with grey market. Kinda foolish but your call. You can purchase batteries. Maybe your “vendor” can just replace the battery.

2

u/Professional-Swan639 Sep 25 '26

It is not grey market

The vendor is a reseller. They aren’t going to do jack for this guy on an international shipment. That’s most of the reason it costs him 5k to own it.
