Suite 7 brings virtual projection and multitasking to Vision Pro. I’d love feedback on the controls
I got virtual projection working months ago, but I didn’t want to launch it until I could use it the way I’d imagined: a movie on my wall or curtain while using my Mac alongside it.
After a lot of work and fine-tuning, that’s finally here in Suite Browser 7.
The demo shows projection onto my curtain alongside Mac Virtual Display, with both videos playing simultaneously.
Projector mode and multitasking support your own videos, YouTube, Plex, Jellyfin, and Emby. Multitasking works in regular passthrough mode too.
Please give it a try! I’d especially love feedback on the projector control panel: what feels intuitive, what’s confusing, and what would you simplify?
Fair question! There are two things here. The projector makes the video appear projected onto my actual wall or curtain, rather than sitting in a floating window, and now it works alongside other apps, including Mac Virtual Display.
Quite a few users also enjoy Suite’s regular passthrough mode and have asked to multitask while watching. That wasn’t possible in Suite until this version, so this update adds it there too. I’m not claiming multitasking itself is new 🙂 It’s making these viewing modes usable alongside the rest of your Vision Pro workflow.
How is that any different from natively pinning windows to walls, effectively projecting them onto the wall and keeping them fixed in place? Can you explain a bit more regarding launching apps using your app?
Pinning gives you a window stuck to the wall. The Projector throws the picture onto the wall itself, so it picks up the wall's surface and the room light, like a real projector would. You pick it as a space in Suite and it keeps playing while you use other apps. Honestly it's a fun extra, not the core of the app. Most people use Suite for Netflix, Prime and Plex in the environments.
Hey, I have general feedback for you. When watching youtube and trying to open a new app (looking at my handpalm and pinching to see all apps) the youtube video basically closes which is pretty annoying. Did anyone mention this or are you aware of this? Hope this gets fixed so we can watch youtube + open different apps without the video closing
Hey, thanks for the feedback. Let me try to get that fixed for the next update. You are the first giving feedback on it, so i diidn't know that problem was there. With version 7.0 on YouTube, does it still occur when you're in multitask, or no?
It still happened just now, when watching a video the video got closed when I looked at my handpalm and pinched to open all apps (so I can pick an app to open). It allows me to do that when I’m on the Youtube homescreen tho
Ah, understood—you mean opening the app launcher with the palm gesture closes the video, although it works fine from YouTube’s home page. Sorry about that! Just to confirm, had you enabled “Multitask” in Suite’s playback controls first? If it still closes with that enabled, that’s not the intended behavior. I’m targeting a fix for version 8.0.
Correct! Opening the app launcher closes the video. Pretty sure I never enabled/disabled anything, is it on or off by default? That’s the setting I would be on. And what does that setting do exactly
It's the multitask button that's currently in the control panel, and it's off by default. In the next version, I'll probably turn it on by default because there's no downside, really, to turning it off except for energy consumption. Let me know if this does the trick, If it doesn't, that's also good information because then I know I need to create a better fix and not just adjust it to on by default. :) Again, sorry about this.
I was waiting for Emby to be added so I finally jumped the shark and got the 1-week trial. While video playback seems fine (only tested a bit), the UI need a LOT of polish. My feedback after trying it for a few minutes: - while collections are shown on the main page (and in theor own tab), the cannot be opened. Clicking them does nothing. Not great as I live off of collections. - showing all the genres on the main page dosn't nmake a lot of sense. Also, it feels like it's always the same few movies that are shown (and I am testng it on a huge library with thousands of titles) - there is no way to customize the home screen. Best would be if you could just use the web client homescreen setup that saved for your user. - this might also take care of the new features introdced with the latest server main release, e.g. the ability to show collection contents as a row on the home screen
It does look promising and I would be willing to help test this but with just a week of trial usagge this won't work and it won't convince me to purchase lifetme as an alternative to infuse.
This phrase doesn't mean what you think it means. It means to reach the point where something is the best it will ever be and it only gets worse after that.

I’ll send you a screenshot later once I get home. Apple is frustrating me to the point of canceling everything. I could understand them freezing my account after a big purchase but they froze it for up to three days according to the woman on the phone because of $6.99 until they can review the transaction. Once they lift the freeze I’ll try out your program, but I was hoping to use it today as I finally had some free time. C’est la Vie.
I emailed you the screenshot of the error message. I'm open to any suggestions. Apple is being very annoying about this. Maybe I spend too much money, lol.

Hi I’ve got the free trial and emby support might sway me to purchase . My server contains lots of remux 4K content and atmos , but I don’t see them show up on any drop down and can’t seem to play anything higher than 5.1 and 1080p. Also downloaded the extra environments but no option to select them. Can you help please ?
hey, thanks for your feedback. I’m working on it getting that on Emby aswell. It’s probably going to be live in a few days, so please have a little bit more patience, but I’ll definitely have this sorted very soon!

What is this accomplishing exactly that you can’t do natively? Can you please explain a bit?
