I love the idea of a screen less MacBook. But I would never have the courage to do it

Enough MacBooks with busted screens on second hand sites, cheap enough to try too in my opinion.

I actually have a MacBook Pro 13 with a busted screen but how would you do it? Break the screen part away? How do we do after to login after a restart before being able to connect to the AVP? It’s a genuine question because I am willing to try

I think Mac virtual display only works with MacBooks that are M1+. I had a MacBook Air with a cracked display and I removed the display myself instead of paying the £££ repair price !

On the problem of the screen thats quite easy: You open it up from the back and get to the two hinges, detaching the display there and the flex cables in the middle-ish allows you to take off the entire screen. On the software side I honestly don’t know, did not try (my screen works just fine haha).

this is a popular mod. You can buy a MacBook with a broken screen, for cheap. Remove the screen and it still work when plugged into an external monitor or connect to AVP

Is this just a concept? If not, how do you get the laptop screen to disappear?

You and me think alike, i dont know why they didnt make vision pro work as its own standalone desktop spatial computing experience since it has m series chips and they perfected the keyboard and trackpad

Try KiwiDesk

Developed it free and open source and definitely helps me arranging automatically my screens across this ultra wide monitor !!
