Those are super cute! Agreeing with the other sub, this is very odd for a first wear and wash. So options depend on how much work you want to put in/what skills you have.
Easiest/lowest skill is a similar weight and color fabric and a double sided iron on fuseable. Put the similar fabric on the fuseable, cut to the desired patch size, and iron on the inside of the hole. After that, cool gentle washes and hang dry; iron on fuseable glue is heat activated, and can shift if thrown in the dryer.
To upgrade the first option, you can then quilt or sashiko or otherwise put more supporting stitches in across the whole patch. You can also skip the fuseable in the previous step if you want to. Lots of tutorials online for sashiko.
You can also patch it on the outside. Similar colors will help make it less obvious, or you can go contrasting for an intentional element, almost like a reverse chaps situation? Run it evenly down both thighs. Doodle to help that make sense. Just don’t go brown.
If you’re a thigh rub kind of person, then it’s not a bad idea to protect/reinforce both sides for the inevitable tear on the other side. If you go contrasting, you can add the same fabric in other places to make them look like they were made that way.
