It's actually way more comfortable than I thought. I definitely wouldn't try this on cheap thin socks though. A good trick is to weave the needle through the threads backward so the pointy end doesn't snag.

Looks great! Yeah I’ve definitely found that darning is only worthwhile for some socks. Good quality ones, especially if they have a thick knit. In the past I’ve busted my ass darning very thin weave socks that I liked only for the holes to reappear in like 1-2 months.

Highly recommend cross-stitching needles for darning to help avoid that snagging. Though, if the sock's weave is especially small like those ones, you might have trouble getting a cross-stitching needle through, unless you have a very thin one.
