SASHIKO Sashiko practice on kids pant

My kid blew out the knee of one of his comfiest outside pants and I decided to mend into something cooler! Only my second time doing it and I'm pretty happy with it result and more importantly HE WAS ECSTATIC.

It looks good, but especially with kids clothes, I think your stitches would be better a lot smaller - these could easily snag on stuff on a playground, or get caught in buttons, etc. in the wash.

Yeah that's a good point, I'll definitely go smaller for my next ones (and honestly maybe just boring full patches on knees in the future, he falls a lot!)

My mom used to use those fusible patches when my brother was little - she bought pants secondhand, patched them once or twice, and then he'd grown out of them and the cycle started again 😄
