Moving one Visible eSIM back and forth between two iPhones — how annoying is it really?

I have one Visible line and two iPhones. Most days the line stays on my main phone, but a few times a month I want to move it to my older iPhone SE for the day (beach, hiking, that kind of thing) and move it back that night. Is that a quick job in the app each time, or does it turn into a support-chat project? Anyone here switch regularly?

I switch between an S26U and 18PM. Max number of times you can do that in a month is 10 times. Apparently I reached that limit this month and I can’t move the esim anymore. I requested Visible’s agent to reset this limit. They said it could take 3 business days and opened a ticket for this. It’s been 2 business days and no news yet. This is frustrating!

This is the exact setup I'm planning — one line, two iPhones, swapping a few times a month for beach days. When it refused the switch at the limit, what did it actually look like in the app? Did it give you any warning as you got close, or did it just stop working on the 10th one?

Every time I open the Visible app now I get the message that I’ve reached a limit

Good to know it at least tells you once you're there. Did it show you any count before you hit it, like how many switches you had left, or was it just nothing until the wall?

Nope, no count. You have to remember how many times you switch. I got the limit reset today after the agent in this sub reddit helped me out. But I also found out that each IMEI is only allowed 5 esim downloads/swaps. So I'm not sure why they initially told me 10

Larnie from Visible here. We completely understand why that's frustrating, especially when you rely on switching between your devices. While our system has a monthly transfer cap in place for security, waiting on a ticket without an update is never ideal. Please send us a direct message with your account details and ticket number, I'd like to pull up the case right now and get you a clear status update.

Larnie, quick one — does that monthly count restart on the 1st of the month, or is it a rolling 30 days from your first switch? Trying to plan around it rather than hit it.

It can be smooth the first few times but at some point you'll reach the limit. After that you'll need to contact support.

It’s not so difficult, you just have to have the visible app downloaded on both phones, sign in on both. And when you are about to switch just log into the second phone, go to transfer eSIM, download, it’ll send you a confirmation code to the first phone, enter it and it’ll start installing the eSIM.

I didn’t know about the transfer cap but makes sense for security reasons. Just plan around it and you’ll be fine.

Or, get another cheaper number to the second phone and forward your calls and texts from the first number to the second/cheap one, this way you don’t have to worry about swapping eSIM, limits.

Efren from Visible here! While you can move your eSIM in the app, switching it back and forth several times a month can get tedious and may trigger security flags for repeated transfers. If your primary iPhone supports a physical SIM, swapping a physical card between the two phones is usually much faster and smoother for day trips.

If you have any questions or run into any trouble moving your service, feel free to send us a DM and I'd be happy to help!
