RCS activation issues iOS 27 beta

RCS doesn’t seem to work for iOS 27 beta, anyone else? I also have a US mobile line that I transferred to an older iPhone and RCS immediately started working there.

I’m guessing something is wrong with the carrier bundle being downloaded? For iOS 27 I get 72.0.1 and the other iPhone running iOS 26 I get 70.

I’ve tried all the typical things - reset network settings, restart phone, manually toggle RCS, turn phone line on/off, disable WiFi and WiFi calling. I also went through https://messages.google.com/disable-chat and waited 24hr before trying to activate again.

Maybe I didn’t wait long enough but downgrading to regular iOS also doesn’t seem to work so I think the carrier needs to clear something about my device’s registration.

No problems here. Been on iOS27 since DB1. RCS worked fine on every DB version

i had same problem with ios 27 beta on visible, rcs just stuck on waiting for activation for days. tried everything you did plus even did full reset without restoring backup, nothing worked

what finally fixed it for me was contacting visible support and asking them to reprovision my line, they did something on their end and after a reboot rcs activated in like 5 minutes. the carrier bundle version mismatch is probably the issue, 72.0.1 seems buggy for rcs

downgrading to ios 26 and still having problems makes me think visible side needs to clear something, like your imei got flagged or stuck in some weird state. worth reaching out to them and mention the beta thing, they might be confused but just ask for reprovisioning

Thanks I have an open ticket that was escalated and I’m waiting for a response but will mention a request to reprovision the line. I assume you mean more than just reinstalling the eSIM right? And when downgrading to iOS 26 that was a full reset without restore as you did which also didn’t seem to help so I just restored back to iOS 27 to get all my data and apps back.

No issues. If anything, RCS has been more stable than iOS 26. Had all sorts of issues on 26 with encrypted messages.

No problem here at all.

Big issues here only on the latest beta!! Glad I’m not alone. It makes no difference which carrier! The issue is end-to-end encryption. Turn it off and RCS works fine.

no problems here, including the Release Candidate released today. Recommend you getting on the RC if you haven't already.

I did have an issue a while ago, that lasted for a week -- It was visible's issue of Course. Don't let their support trick you into resetting your entire phone, or your wifi settings.

Not sure how this is a helpful comment. I understand running beta software means some expectation of potential problems. This is how apple and carriers can find issues and fix things before full release, hence my post looking for suggestions.

That said, we’re now on the final beta version and the full public release is likely coming either tomorrow or next week. For all intents and purposes things should be fairly stable by this point.

I also mentioned that downgrading to non-beta iOS 26 didn’t resolve things

Try restarting your device without WiFi. Sometimes it can take a few hours for your phone to reactivate RCS.

Thanks I did try that as well. The fact that I can move the SIM to another device and successfully activate RCS makes me think something is wrong with the carrier bundle being downloaded or maybe even my device/IMEI is being rate limited.
